The International Maritime Organization has the pleasure to inform that the 2016 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea ceremony will be held at IMO Headquarters next Monday, 21 November 2016 at 6 p.m., London time. The Award was established to provide international recognition for those who, at the risk of losing their own life, perform acts of exceptional bravery, displaying outstanding courage in attempting to save life at sea or in attempting to prevent or mitigate damage to the marine environment.
The recipient of the Award is Captain Radhika Menon, Master of the M/T Sampurna Swarajya, nominated by India. Certificates of Commendation will also be presented to recipients nominated by China, France, India and the Republic of Korea. Please find attached the ceremony programme for further information.
This year, for the first time, the ceremony will be live streamed to the general public from 6 p.m. at: http://streaming.imo.org. PC, Mac and mobile devices including Android and iOS are supported. Remote viewers will be prompted online via the streaming website to fill in the following information on the day of the event:
- Full Name
- Job Title
- Type of Organization
The streaming web site will cache the above and reuse this profile for playing the video or re-joining the streaming sessions.
