WISTA Conference LISW 2019
LISW 2019 – WISTA UK will be hosting its conference on the opening day Monday 9th September.
As in previous LISWs, the sessions will be challenging, educational and exploring the key issues facing our sectors. Our final session will be in conjunction with Maritime UK’s Women’s Taskforce giving an update on what has happened since the challenge given to us by John Hayes MP to bring for diversity into the maritime sector – pledge, charter, Speakers bank, Interview pool and much more.

Isabelle Rojon is a Principal Consultant at UMAS. Her work is focused on maritime greenhouse gas policies and governance and she has advised, inter alia, the International Maritime Organization, the World Bank and governments. Isabelle also pursues a doctoral degree at the UCL Energy Institute for which she investigates how to access climate finance for the decarbonization of the shipping industry. Before joining UMAS, she was a Senior Research & Editorial Executive at Fathom Maritime Intelligence, writing publications on environmental regulations and energy efficiency in the maritime industry, and has previously worked in the Energy & Environment Department of the research and consultancy company Ecorys in the Netherlands. Isabelle has a BA in Political and Economic Sciences from RWTH Aachen University, Germany and an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management from Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
ANNE LISE KJAER
Anne Lise Kjaer is a renowned futurist and entrepreneur. Born in Denmark and resident in London, Kjaer holds the honorary title of Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassador. Recently, Singapore’s URA (Urban Development Authority) appointed her member of the IPE (International Panel of Experts) 2018-2021. Anne Lise Kjaer has delivered talks to over 50,000 people over the past two decades Kjaer has built an international reputation as an inspirational thinker and speaker. Her diverse outlook provides unique perspectives on global trends shaping tomorrow’s business and society. Author of The Trend Management Toolkit – A Practical Guide to the Future (Palgrave Macmillan 2014) Anne Lise Kjaer contributes to numerous academic papers and publications.

Dr. Tristan Smith UCL, who has three principle fields of research interest: Low Carbon Shipping The development and implementation of technologies and operational practices for the reduction of CO2 emission from shipping, Katharine Palmer Lloyd’s Register global head of sustainability for LR’s Marine & Offshore, Claire McAllister Head of Maritime Environment, Technology and Innovation at Department for Transport, Dr Martin Stopford non-executive President of Clarkson Research Services and Isabelle Rojon.
15.00 Book launch from The Nautical Institute and Tabletop exercise: Electronic evidence: smart working in practice, led by Bridget Hogan, Director of Publishing and Membership, The Nautical Institute. The exercise will examine the development of electronic evidence in the casualty investigation.
