This is the 21st century, with the world neatly knitted together by sophisticated transport and logistics systems. Ships are safer than they ever have been. Aircraft rarely crash and road and rail transport are reliable. Wars are regional, rather than global. So why is industry being urged by one of the major management consultancies to harden its defences against “attacks on the supply chain”?
