Women in Maritime

WISTA UK organises a number of events throughout the year, with at least one major conference/seminar. The major events tend to take place during two significant shipping activities in the UK – London International Shipping Week (LISW) and IFB (International Festival of Business in Liverpool).

London International Shipping Week – LISW 2019

LISW 2019 – WISTA UK will be hosting its conference and networking event on the opening day Monday 9th September. As in previous years, the sessions will be challenging, educational and exploring the key issues facing our sectors. We will be exploring the opportunities and threats from autonomous entities including ships, robotics and automation, both in terms of the working practices but also from the human side, what jobs are at risk, what opportunities are there and how can more women become involved in the shipping and maritime sectors. Our final session will be around the UK our maritime nation, post-Brexit, what opportunities are there for the UK especially our ports sector. Reserve your space here.

LISW 2019 Networking 9 September

In the evening we will be hosting jointly with Associate British Ports – you must hear their Sea Shanty band, a grand networking night to get the week off to a fabulous start.  We will be updating details regularly so bookmark this page and regularly check for details. Book here
